The Unified Pulse

How consolidating fragmented AR reporting across two business units into a single Power BI dashboard eliminated 5–6 hours of weekly manual work, and ended the data trust problem.

Case study illustration: The Unified Pulse

THE SITUATION

Two global business units, Customer Financial Services and Consumer Small Business operations, tracked AR performance from separate data sources. Aligning those sources into a consistent performance update consumed 5 to 6 hours of manual work every week.

The deeper problem: the data still diverged. Meetings meant to address AR performance became negotiating sessions over whose numbers were right. Two teams with shared accountability had no shared platform, and the gap between their data views was blocking the collaboration their goals required.

WHAT CHANGED

A unified Power BI dashboard was built as the single authoritative source for AR metrics across both teams. Automated pipelines replaced manual data gathering. Drill-down capabilities let users move from executive summary to granular root-cause analysis without submitting new requests. Weekly availability was guaranteed, automatically, without manual preparation.

The principle: unified reporting is the foundation of cross-functional collaboration. When all stakeholders see the same picture, the conversation shifts from defending numbers to acting on them.

THE DELTA

Manual preparation gone. Data disputes ended. Both teams operating from the same source, at the same time, with the ability to drill into the detail independently. Delinquency risks identified and acted on days or weeks before the previous cycle allowed.

THE TAKEAWAY

"Unified reporting is the foundation of cross-functional collaboration. When all stakeholders see the same picture, the conversation shifts from whose numbers are right to what we do about them."

The hours saved are the visible gain. The invisible gain is every meeting that did not become a data arbitration session, and every delinquency risk that was caught early enough to act on.
