Technical and Printing Specifications

Author:

1. Purpose

This Technical and Printing Specifications document ("Specs") defines the baseline file, quality, and printing requirements across the Soufiane Boudarraja ecosystem (the "Ecosystem"). It is intended to standardise how we deliver digital print files, downloadable workbooks, and print-on-demand (POD) design assets, and to set clear expectations for customers, partners, and printers.

2. Scope

These Specs apply to:

  • Downloadable PDFs intended for printing      (for example educational workbooks).

  • Digital templates, worksheets, and      printable materials.

  • POD design files (apparel, accessories,      home goods) and associated mockups.

  • Any files delivered as part of consulting      or training engagements that include printable assets.

These Specs do not replace the Terms and Conditions, Support and Retention Policy, or product-specific descriptions. If a product page specifies different file requirements, the product page specifications apply for that product.

3. File formats and delivery

3.1 Standard formats

  • Primary printable format: PDF      (print-ready).

  • Editable formats (where offered): DOCX,      PPTX, XLSX, or source design formats as specified on the product page.

  • POD design formats: PNG (with      transparency) and/or vector formats where supported by the fulfilment      provider.

Unless explicitly stated, downloadable files are provided as final output. Editable source files are provided only when listed in the product description or agreement.

3.2 Delivery method

  • Downloads may be delivered via direct      links, account access, or email delivery through a storefront platform.

  • For large bundles, files may be delivered      as a compressed archive (ZIP) where appropriate.

  • For customer engagements, files may be      delivered via secure shared folders or customer-selected collaboration      tools.

4. Print-ready PDF standards

Unless otherwise stated, printable PDFs are prepared using these baseline standards:

4.1 Page size

  • A4 (210 × 297 mm) for EU-first workbooks      unless otherwise specified.

  • US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) may be provided      where stated.

4.2 Resolution and image quality

  • Images and raster elements should be at      least 300 DPI at final size for print.

  • Line art and text should be vector where      feasible to maintain sharpness.

4.3 Fonts and text

  • Fonts are embedded in the PDF where      feasible.

  • Text is designed for legibility at      standard print sizes (typically 10–14 pt for body text depending on      purpose).

4.4 Colour and black and white

  • Many workbooks are designed to print well      in black and white even when previewed in colour.

  • If a file is intended for colour printing,      it will be labelled accordingly on the product page or in the file name.

  • Colour output may vary by printer      calibration, paper type, and ink quality.

4.5 Bleed and trim (where applicable)

  • Most printable workbooks intended for home      printing use no-bleed layouts unless explicitly stated.

  • Where bleed is required (for professional      print), the product description will specify bleed requirements and safe      margins.

5. Home printing guidance (informational)

Home printing results vary by device, ink/toner, and paper. The guidance below is informational and not a guarantee of results.

5.1 Recommended paper

  • For colouring and kids workbooks: 90–120      gsm for better durability and reduced bleed-through.

  • For standard worksheets: 80–100 gsm is      usually sufficient.

  • For markers: consider thicker paper      (120–160 gsm) to reduce bleed-through.

5.2 Print settings

  • Scale: 100% or "Actual size"      where possible.

  • Disable "Fit to page" unless the      file specifically requires it.

  • For black and white printing: select      grayscale or black-only mode if desired.

  • For duplex printing: only use if the file      is designed for duplex; otherwise print single-sided.

6. Print-on-demand (POD) design specifications

POD products are produced by third-party fulfilment partners. Each provider has product-specific file requirements. We prepare assets to meet those requirements where the product is offered through our storefront.

6.1 Common POD asset requirements

  • PNG with transparent background where      required for apparel prints.

  • High resolution designs sized to provider      requirements (often 300 DPI at target print size).

  • Safe area alignment to avoid critical      elements near edges.

  • Colour appearance may vary across fabrics,      substrates, and printing methods.

6.2 Mockups

Mockup images are for illustrative purposes. Actual products may differ due to fabric texture, lighting, print method, and production tolerances.

7. Versioning and compatibility

Digital files and templates may be updated over time. Version identifiers may appear in file names. We do not guarantee compatibility with every third-party app or printer configuration. Where editable formats are provided, compatibility depends on your software versions (for example Microsoft Office versions, PDF viewers, or design tools).

8. Quality control

We apply reasonable quality checks before publishing or delivering files, which may include:

  • Checking file integrity (opening/export      validation).

  • Basic layout review and page order      verification.

  • Spot checks for print readability and      contrast.

  • Ensuring POD asset exports match provider      size requirements where feasible.

9. Known limitations and disclaimers

  • We cannot control end-user printers, ink      quality, paper quality, or print shop processes.

  • Colour output and alignment can vary      across printers and production runs.

  • Device screens may display colours      differently from printed output.

  • Some files may contain minor visual      variance depending on viewing software (PDF viewer rendering differences).

  • Warranty and liability limitations for      products are defined in the Terms and Conditions and relevant disclaimers.

10. Support for technical issues

Support for access and file integrity issues is handled under the Digital Product Support and Retention Policy. If you believe a file is corrupted or missing content, use our contact page: https://www.soufianeboudarraja.com/contactwith the details and we will provide a replacement file where appropriate.

11. Changes to these Specs

We may update these Specs to reflect tooling changes, supplier requirement changes, or quality improvements. The "Last updated" date indicates when changes took effect.
